The University of Huddersfield is a dynamic and expanding institution in a thriving West Yorkshire town. It has a friendly and safe reputation, an excellent graduate employment record and a high level of student support. Whatever you aim to do in life, it pays to get a good education. And with high standards of teaching and learning and excellent facilities that's exactly what our students can expect from the University of Huddersfield. Spread over three campuses in Huddersfield, Oldham and Barnsley we help thousands of people, from school leavers to those returning to education after a gap, achieve their goals each year.
Huddersfield is conveniently placed for all the major centres in the North of England. It is approximately two hours on the train from London, 30 minutes from Manchester and minutes from Leeds. The campus is just a few minutes walk from a thriving town centre which contains an attractive blend of traditional and modern architecture. The University is one of the UK's top five providers of sandwich courses, proving that period of paid work experience built into an undergraduate degree can help provide a significant advantage in the job market after graduation. The University also has a strong research profile and is one of the best 'new' universities for teaching quality. In 2004 the University gained the highest possible rating available in an institutional review by the Quality Assurance Agency (QAA).
The University of Huddersfield has three campuses, one in Huddersfield town centre (the Queensgate campus) one in Barnsley and another in Oldham. University Campus Oldham and University Campus Barnsley opened in 2005 in a bid to make higher education more readily available to people in both towns and the surrounding area. They offer a range of full and part-time courses that lead to qualifications at undergraduate and postgraduate level. The University has invested heavily in all three campuses, which means you’ll find industry standard facilities rarely seen outside a large city. Each campus has its own extensive library and computing facility, and students at Barnsley and Oldham also have access to all the support facilities available at the Huddersfield campus.
Our Barnsley and Oldham campuses are specialist hubs of excellence in a range of subject areas.
